Thermo-Loc, 2 sticks

Thermo-Loc is a plastic which softens in hot water and can be used in place of Setters' Wax to hold pieces of jewellery whilst (for example) stones are being set, or techniques such as engraving are performed.

A very versatile medium which has a variety of applications, Thermo-Loc is sticky when soft and will adhere to surfaces such as wood or acrylic. This allows for pieces to be mounted on a piece of wood and held in a bench vice whilst working so that both hands are free.

Simply soak the plastic in boiling water to soften it, repeating the process to remove the work when completed. The plastic can be reused many times, so effort should be made to keep it clean.
